Leonardo da Vinci was born out of wedlock in the
town of Vinci in the Republic of Florence Italy. Having no surname, da Vinci means of the town of Vinci. Leonardo had a great imagination and
curiosity. Although he is noted as
being one of the greatest painters of all time he was gifted with many other
talents and is considered by many to have been a genius. Due to his procrastination and his constant
changing and creating and not completing many of his works only fifteen of his
original paintings remain. Two of them
are “The Last Supper” and The Mona Lisa” that are among the greatest paintings
of all time.
